Family Outing

I attended something of a family reunion last week and one of the events was outdoor movie night. Being the somewhat tech-savy girl that I am, I was in charge of the A/V equipment. No biggie because I’ve done it every year. Someone much taller hangs up the sheet. Someone much stronger positions the table. I hook up my laptop to the projector and speakers…

And the world comes to a screeching halt because up on the “screen” was an 6′ x 8′ display of my laptop’s background… Which was a photo of two gorgeous men having sex. Oops!

One little cousin told her younger sister that the boys were wrestling. My uncle asked if that was going to be in the movie. My sister fell out of her chair laughing and bruised her forehead. My father sent beer shooting out his nose.

I must now submit to an inspection before connecting any future hardware devices together when in the presence of others. Though they were happy to hear the Goodreads M/M Romance Group featured my book for the month of July, they preferred not to see how I did my research for it.

The rest of the week was fairly uneventful. :)

Attention Floridians: Be an Extra in a Movie!

From Suzanne Brockmann’s newsletter comes news of a forthcoming gay romantic comedy MOVIE and a chance to be a part of it next month in Florida:

So I’m producing a movie called THE PERFECT WEDDING, and we’re filming in Sarasota, Florida, from June 6th to the 25th.

The screenplay was co-written by me, my husband Ed Gaffney, and our son, Jason Gaffney. (Jason’s an actor, and he’s also playing a part in the film!)

THE PERFECT WEDDING is a romantic comedy – a sweet little “boy meets boy, boy loses boy, boy wins boy” story. <g>

I’m going to be blogging and facebook posting and tweeting all month from on set, sharing what’s looking to be a very interesting experience as I produce my first feature-length film. Be sure to visit my facebook page at www.facebook.com/SuzanneBrockmannBooks to get the latest movie news!

Also… If you live near Sarasota (or plan to visit in June!), we’re looking for extras! Email me at SuzanneBrockmann@aol.com with “Movie extra” in the subject header.

Since I love her books and think her son is an absolute cutie, I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing this little indy film when it comes out. :)

Were the World Mine

This is one of those movies that you curl up to watch on a Sunday morning. I can’t resist watching it whenever it’s on Logo. Jessewave’s Aunt Lynn’s review of Were the World Mine will tell you much better than I ever could why it’s so wonderful, so pop on over there to read a real review. It’s on my highly recommended list of excellent keepers.
