It is so true that homphobia effects all people that believe in equality. There is nothing wrong with MM romance and yet it is stigmatized. In this day and age, too.

I knew a little about this already of course since we are on some of the same mailing lists. I didn’t know the full details though. I am currently working in one of those “family” firms and keep my writing well and truly hidden from them. Only one person in the firm knows I write – she found out by accident and has, thus far, kept quiet, I hope she has forgotten – though she never knew exactly what I write. When she asked I simply said romance.

No one should have to hide things out of fear, but until homophobia ends – and in my firm I have no doubt it never will – I am keeping quiet. The simple truth is I need a job and as much as I might hate it, the bills won’t pay themselves.
